Good Friday is the day when Christians remember the crucifixion of Jesus. The tone of the service is mournful as the death of our Lord on the cross, an instrument of extreme torture leads us to contemplate the horrors of evil. But the service is also good, in that on the cross, Jesus stretched out his hands to all humanity to show that God’s love is greater than our wickedness and that God desires to welcome everyone who would turn and look upon his Son.
