Reverend Abraham Rohan Thomas
Rev. Abraham Rohan Thomas was born in Kerala, India and lived in India and in the Middle East during his childhood before his family immigrated to Canada in 2009. His tradition of birth was the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian church, which was a Reformed Eastern Church with Syrian High Church practices and reformed theology and doctrines. Abraham did both his B.A. and M.A. in Religious Studies at McMaster University, with his focus being on Early Christianity and Second Temple Judaism. He did his M.Div. at Wycliff College and graduated in May 2022. He was ordained a deacon in April 2023. Prior to St. Peter and St. Simons, Abraham had served at St. Mary and St. Martha on Weston Road from 2019 to 2021 as the seminary student on the Missional Hub team. He had interned at Church of the Holy Family in 2021 before being accepted as a Postulant in the Diocese of Toronto. During his postulancy, he had served at Church of St. Batholomew in Regent Park and St. George’s on the Hill. Rev. Abraham joined St. Peter and St. Simon’s in May 2023 as the Assistant Curate for the Parish.
