On two occasions in the last five years, the choir of St Peter and St Simon has travelled to England at the invitation of English cathedrals.
In 2016, we spent two weeks in Chester and Lincoln, and in 2019, in Gloucester and Chichester.
Singing services in these glorious historic cathedrals was a transformative experience for our choristers. We stayed in college dorms and got to know a bit about how our fellow Anglicans live and worship across the pond. The opportunity –and the invitations– also underscore the fact that we have a very good choir with its mix of professional leads and volunteer singers.
In the future, we hope to tour again. It is not only great fun, but it also helps us hone our skills for our main purpose, which is to sing hymns, psalms, and anthems for our marvellous home parish.
