David and his family joined St. Simon’s in 1966, when Hugh Bedford-Jones was the Rector.
David is a dedicated server, with nearly 50 years of service, including a period when he was Head Server. David has been in Sunday School from both sides, as a participant and a teacher.
He currently volunteers as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors with the St. Simon’s Shelter, and David is a passionate trade unionist and human rights advocate, having served on many boards and in many capacities in CUPE, the Alliance for Employment Equity, and the OMERS Pension Board.
Since the pandemic began, David has not missed one livestream service as he employs his skills in bring church services into the digital age.
David Carrington recently retired having enjoyed a 32-year career at Toronto Hydro. In his spare time, he is an accomplished photographer.
