In May SPSS said farewell to our rector, Fr Geoff Sangwine, who has left to become Sub Dean and Vicar of St James’ Cathedral. Fr. Geoff served SPSS since August 2016, and in remarking upon the appointment and his time at SPSS, Fr. Geoff said, “it has been a wonderful, often challenging and grace-filled ten years and in many ways, it has prepared me for this next step in ministry which is a huge honour.”
Fr. Geoff’s last service at SPSS was Sunday, April 26th. Prior to that we celebrated his tenure here with a special luncheon attended by Bishop Kevin Robertson and Archdeacon Cheryl Palmer.
For the next few months, Fr Michael Burgess will fill in as interim priest while the parish waits with anticipation to begin a next chapter in our journey.
