Enter into the sacredness of the Christmas week with a candlelight, traditional service.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a service that has its roots in Victorian England. The service tells the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus in nine different readings, beginning in Genesis and ending in the Gospels.
The readings are interspersed with a selection of well-known Christmas Carols, hymns, and choir anthems. You will be treated to the music of Chilcott, Sirrett, Holman, Vaughan Williams, and Rutter.
A mince tart and mulled wine reception follows the service in the great hall.
