Signs of Life, Lenten Study

March 1, 2020 @ 9:15 am - 10:15 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:15 am on Sunday, repeating until March 15, 2020

This Lent, Bishop Andrew invites us in our parishes or as individuals to explore five symbols – light, water, food, shelter, and community – with the help of a program entitled Signs of Life.

Signs of Life is a five-week offering from Virginia Theological Seminary and the Society of St. John the Evangelist, a monastic community in the Episcopal church near Boston. It explores the riches of our worship traditions, liturgy and sacraments, as well as the art and architecture of our sacred spaces. The program is offered at no cost. You can find the complete curriculum at signsoflife.org.
Each week, we will gather at 9:15 am in the sitting room to watch a 15 minute video on the week’s theme, followed by a time for discussion on questions provided by the curriculum. A light breakfast will be provided.

In addition, if you wish, you may join Bishop Andrew who is hosting a conversation on the symbols each Tuesday evening in the month of March. The location of the studies shifts week to week throughout the Diocese, however on Tuesday March 17th, he will be at St. Barnabas, Chester and on March 31st, he will be at the Cathedral Centre. To register to study with the Bishop, sign up at https://www.toronto.anglican.ca/.
